Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it toone of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'” Matthew 25:31-46 (37-40)
INTRO: Whenever the Scriptures brings up the last judgment, it is to force us to look at ultimate issues
When my life reaches its final hour, what will it equal?
– what will be the sum total of everything I’ve done?
– taken as a whole, what was my life’s value? its spiritual and moral quality? its contribution?
– what was the meaning of my life?

Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. Immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My garments?” Mark 5:29-30
INTRO: What I want to do with this story is to:
- Go through it once and point out what we typically look for
- Then go back to it and focus on what we would typically overlook read more…
I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. How to Know Jesus Today _ John 10 _ Chuck Smith Jr.
The Phraisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times? An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” And He left them and went away. Matthew 16:1-4 read more…
Ode 13, Odes of Solomon Translated and read by James H. Charlesworth . Music by John Andrew Schreiner
Ode 13
1. Behold, the Lord is our mirror. Open your eyes and see them in Him.
2. And learn the manner of your face, then declare praises to His Spirit.
3. And wipe the paint from your face, and love His holiness and put it on.
4. Then you will be unblemished at all times with Him.
Hallelujah.
In this week’s sermon notes, I pointed out how the complaint about Jesus going to the home of Zaccheus was a distraction from the plot of the story. The same is true today. When religious people start scrutinizing other believers for what they feel are flaws in their doctrine and publish their criticism, they steal attention away from what Jesus is doing through the ministry of those they criticize. In fact, I cannot help but think that some people criticize others that God uses in a big way, not only for jealousy, but in order to draw attention to themselves. read more…
